Thus, we charge our volunteers a nominal amount for raising funds needed to carryout all of our many projects. But Volunteer Himalaya keeps cost as low as possible, a difficult task in itself.
The volunteering period can be arranged from 2 week to 3 months and fees range from Euro 200.00 to US 800.00, depending heavily on the program and the length of stay.

The program fee should be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu.

Programme fee includes:

• Food and accommodation from one day prior to the start of training until completion of placement contract.

• Nepali language and cultural training.

• Work related training i.e. teacher training.

• Land transportation to and from placement.

• Regular visits by the Volunteer Himalaya Organization staff.

• Transportation to and from airport.

The program fee doesn’t cover these costs:

• Visa/Visa extension fee

• Traveling and other expenses out of the placement during weekends.

• Air Tickets (Domestic/International)

• Insurance

• Laundry service

• Bar Bills

Regardig VISA: This must be a Tourist Visa for maximum of 5 months. During this period you are unable to earn money or take paid work. Its costs are:

Tourist Visa Extension

» Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 30 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 2 per day
» Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January – December).

• 75% Refund- Before starting program training
• Euro 150 will not be refunded after starting the training
• Money will not be refunded once you start your volunteer placement and your position is not transferable.
