TRAINING
On the next day of arrival of volunteers in the
Kathmandu and prior to mobilizing them in their
respective placements, the volunteers will receive
training on the following:
1. Introductory Language Class
2. Information about Nepali Culture.
3. Issues about Personal Safety.
4. Other training such as ARTS (Appropriate rural
technology system) related to specific area of the
volunteers.
5. Health education
The Two Phases of Training
1. Kathmandu phase and
2. Village stay in the surrounding villages.
The Kathmandu
phase will concentrate more on the Introductory
Language Class whereas the village stay will provide
volunteers the opportunities to experience and
observe day to day life, culture, custom and
tradition which is the key to adjusting smoothly
into the placement. For interested individuals, an
early morning yoga and meditation session can also
be arranged upon their prior request.
The duration of the training will be 10 days in
total, each phase consisting of 5 days.
Each day training will be conducted for 5 to 6
hours.
